Alfie Moore is a serving police sergeant who was planning to stage I Predict a Riot at last year's festival until events intervened. The show, now called I Predicted a Riot, puts last summer's social unrest into a historical context but also makes salient points about the creeping privatisation of British policing. What could be a tedious lecture is, in fact, a very funny hour, nicely paced with lots of well-crafted jokes and a large dash of gallows police humour. A new career awaits if G4S, gawd help us, takes over Northumberland police.
